Practical media link guides

DailyDL is being developed to make media-link checking clearer. A recognised link is not proof that a file can be downloaded. Always use the official export/download features where available and save only content you own, have permission to use, or are otherwise legally entitled to keep.

How to save your own content safely

  1. Start with the platform's official download, export, or account-data tools.
  2. Check that you are signed into the correct account and that the content belongs to you or you have permission to save it.
  3. Choose a format and quality offered by the service, and keep the original file when possible.
  4. Store downloaded files in a folder you can back up, and avoid unknown installers or browser extensions that claim to unlock downloads.

Why a link may not download

What to try when a download fails

  1. Open the original link and check that it still works for you.
  2. Use the platform's own download/export option if it provides one.
  3. Try a current browser and check available device storage.
  4. Do not share passwords, private tokens, or account cookies with third-party download sites.
  5. If a link is not supported, do not assume repeated retries will make it work.

Copyright and responsible use

Creators and platforms may have rights and terms that govern saving, copying, and redistribution. Do not bypass DRM, private access controls, or technical restrictions. Permission to view content is not automatically permission to download or redistribute it.

What DailyDL supports today

This prototype can check URL formatting and recognise selected domains. Social-platform downloading is not connected, and GridArt support is unconfirmed. A direct media-file link may work only when the hosting server permits browser access. We will update this page when features have been implemented and tested.

Frequently asked questions

Is DailyDL able to download every social platform?

No. Support varies by platform, link type, permissions, and technical availability. The current prototype does not have social-platform download integrations.

Is it safe to paste a private or account-specific link?

Avoid pasting URLs that contain passwords, access tokens, or private information. Use public links and official account tools wherever possible.

Can I download and repost someone else's video?

Only when you have the necessary permission or another valid legal basis. Downloading and redistribution can have different rights requirements.
